| Formed in 1998, Capital Waste, Inc. (“Capital Waste”
or the “Company”) represents a leading independent
provider of non-hazardous solid waste management services including
collection, transfer station and recycling services in the metropolitan
Detroit area. Capital services thousands of customers including
municipalities, manufacturing plants, commercial office buildings,
construction sites, retail malls, large sporting venues, any
type of business establishment, hospitals, schools and universities.
Capital Waste’s hauling operations are supported by a
fleet of 60 vehicles. Although most of the waste is recycled
at the company’s material recovery facility, Capital has
negotiated a favorable contract with the City of Riverview to
dispose waste at the municipally owned landfill.
Along with its hauling operations, Capital Waste owns a strategically
located transfer station permitted for both MSW and C&D
waste. The transfer station is situated in the center of Detroit.
Aside from easy access to major interstate highways, the transfer
station is licensed by the Michigan Department of Environmental
Quality (“MDEQ”) for both transfer and processing,
permitting the installation and operation of modern recycling
equipment, which yields approximately 80 tons of recycled
product per day, directly from the waste stream. No other
transfer in the State of Michigan is licensed and equipped
with such recycling capabilities, guaranteeing our customers
100% landfill avoidance if needed. Installed in November,
2003, the “positive pick” recycling line enables
the sorting, capturing and baling of cardboard, paper, metal
and plastics from an otherwise commingled load of solid waste.
The Company’s nine member management team averages
25 years of industry experience including five years with
Capital Waste. This extensive time and tenure within the Detroit
waste market ensures all customers of receiving prompt, professional
service, with minimal problems during the course of the job.
